What Is Crazy Time?

Crazy Time is a live game show developed by Evolution that centers on a large spinning wheel and four unique bonus rounds. The game plays out in real time, and every spin produces a result that all participants see simultaneously. The suspense in the game often keeps players watching even between their own bets.

Back in February 2020, Todd Haushalter first revealed the game at the ICE Exhibition in London and had this to say about it:

"It's a carnival of activity, with a wheel loaded with bonuses. There are shows within a show. Crazy Time is the most fun casino game ever made and the most expensive!"

The game's lasting appeal comes down to a few standout features:

The wheel includes number segments alongside four distinct bonus game triggers, creating unpredictable variation in every single round.
Crazy Time live game studio

Evolution broadcasts Crazy Time from a purpose built set designed to look and feel like a television game show stage.

The Top Slot pairs a random multiplier with one betting option, which is boosted if the wheel lands on it.

Wheel Structure – Clear Overview

The Crazy Time wheel contains 54 segments in total, but those segments are not distributed evenly across outcomes. The table below breaks down each segment type, how often it appears on the wheel, and what base multiplier it carries.

Segment Frequency on Wheel Multiplier (Base)
1 21 1x
2 13 2x
5 7 5x
10 4 10x
Coin Flip 4 Varies
Cash Hunt 2 Varies
Pachinko 2 Varies
Crazy Time 1 Varies

In our view, the number 1 may be suitable for players who prefer more frequent hits, but its higher probability does not make it a profitable or risk-free bet. Less frequent number and bonus bets can produce larger results, but they also involve longer gaps between wins and greater volatility. No betting option removes the house edge, as every available bet has an RTP below 100%.

Beginner Tip. Betting on several segments can increase the chance of covering the winning result, but each selection is a separate wager. Always check the total bet shown on the screen before the betting period closes.

How Does the Crazy Time Top Slot Work?

The Top Slot is a two-reel feature displayed above the main wheel. It runs during every main game round alongside the wheel spin. One reel contains the eight available betting options: 1, 2, 5, 10, Coin Flip, Cash Hunt, Pachinko, and Crazy Time. The other reel contains multipliers that can reach up to 50x.

For a Top Slot multiplier to become active, the selected bet and the multiplier must align on the middle horizontal line. If they do not align, the round continues without a Top Slot multiplier. Even when a multiplier is assigned, it only applies if the main wheel stops on the same number or bonus selected by the Top Slot.

Editorial Note. In our view, Top Slot is one of Crazy Time's strongest features because it can enhance both regular number payouts and bonus game results.

On a number bet, the Top Slot multiplies the regular payout for that number. For example, if it assigns 4x to the number 10 and the main wheel lands on 10, the standard 10:1 win becomes 40:1.

On a bonus bet, the Top Slot does not provide an immediate payout. Instead, it multiplies the result generated inside the corresponding bonus game. Depending on the feature, it may be applied to the two Coin Flip values, all 108 Cash Hunt values, the Pachinko landing values, or the multipliers on the separate Crazy Time wheel.

Crazy Time Bonus Rounds Explained

The bonus rounds are where Crazy Time truly comes alive. They trigger whenever the wheel lands on one of the four bonus segments, and only players who placed a bet on that specific segment get to participate. Each round plays differently, offering multipliers that can reach into the thousands.

Crazy Time Coin Flip bonus round

Coin Flip Bonus Round

Coin Flip occupies four segments on the main wheel, making it the most frequently triggered bonus. The game assigns one random multiplier to the red side of a coin and another to the blue side before flipping it automatically. Players do not choose a color; the side that lands face up determines the payout. Any active Top Slot multiplier is applied to both values, allowing a maximum result of 5,000x.

Crazy Time Cash Hunt bonus round

Cash Hunt Bonus Round

Cash Hunt generates 108 random multipliers and displays them on the screen. If a Top Slot multiplier is active, it multiplies all 108 values before they are covered with symbols and shuffled. Each player selects one hidden position before the countdown ends, and the virtual cannon then reveals the corresponding payout. The revealed multiplier is applied to the player's original Cash Hunt bet placed during the main wheel round.

Crazy Time Pachinko bonus round

Pachinko Bonus Round

Pachinko uses a pegged wall with 16 landing positions containing multipliers and a Double segment. The game selects a random drop zone, and the presenter releases a puck that bounces down the wall. If the puck lands on Double, all displayed multipliers double and another drop begins. This can repeat until the puck reaches a multiplier, with a maximum result of 10,000x. The final multiplier is applied to the player's original Pachinko bet placed during the main wheel round.

Crazy Time main bonus round wheel

Crazy Time Bonus Round

This bonus uses a separate 64-segment wheel with three colored flappers. Each player selects one flapper before the wheel spins. When the wheel stops, each flapper points to a different segment, and the multiplier indicated by the player's chosen flapper determines the result. If that flapper points to Double or Triple, all values are doubled or tripled and the wheel spins again for the affected players. The final multiplier is applied to the player's original Crazy Time bet placed during the main wheel round.

Editorial Note. The interactive choices do not give players control over the odds. Selecting a Cash Hunt symbol or a Crazy Time flapper determines which random result a player receives, but it does not turn either bonus into a game of skill.

Crazy Time Video Review with All Bonus Rounds

Check out the video below to see how we play Crazy Time and what each bonus round looks like when it triggers.

Crazy Time RTP and Volatility by Bet

Crazy Time can produce results of up to 20,000x in its namesake bonus round, while Pachinko is capped at 10,000x. The theoretical RTP varies according to the selected betting option.

The volatility labels below are relative estimates based on how frequently each segment appears and how widely its possible returns vary. Evolution publishes RTP figures for individual bets but does not provide this exact low-to-high volatility classification.

Bet Type RTP Volatility
1 96.08% Low
2 95.95% Low
5 95.78% Medium
10 95.73% Medium
Coin Flip 95.70% Medium
Cash Hunt 95.27% High
Pachinko 94.33% High
Crazy Time 94.41% High
Keep in Mind. Previous results do not affect the next wheel spin. A number or bonus that has not appeared for several rounds does not become more likely to land.

How the Winnings are Calculated

For number bets, the game multiplies the stake by the payout attached to the winning number. The original stake is then returned in addition to the winnings. If the Top Slot assigned a multiplier to the same number, it multiplies the regular win.

For example. Suppose you place 5 units on the number 10. The main wheel lands on 10, and the Top Slot assigned a 4x multiplier to that number. The win is calculated as 5 × 10 × 4, producing 200 units in winnings. The original 5-unit stake is also returned, making the total amount credited 205 units.

For bonus bets, the original stake is multiplied by the result generated in the corresponding bonus game. When an active Top Slot multiplier applies, it increases the values inside that bonus feature according to its rules.

FAQ

How can you predict what the Crazy Time wheel will land on?

No, predicting outcomes is not possible. Every spin uses a certified random number generator alongside the physical wheel, so results are entirely random. No pattern or strategy can forecast where the wheel will stop on any given round.

Can Crazy Time be hacked?

No, hacking the game is not possible. Evolution uses advanced encryption and independent auditing to ensure the integrity of every round. The system is tested and monitored continuously, making any form of external interference unfeasible.

When is the ideal time to play Crazy Time?

There is no optimal time. Since results are random and independent of player volume or time of day, each spin carries the same probability regardless of when you join. Playing at any hour produces identical odds for every segment.
